Try DanceMakers of Texas’ New Student Variety Package to learn all different styles of dance, from ballroom to bachata.
“I want to learn how to dance—I just don’t know how to get started.” DanceMakers of Texas owner Amanda Brown has lost count of the number of times she’s heard this. But with DanceMaker’s New Student Variety Package, it’s easier than ever to get started.
The package offers a buffet of different styles for new students to try, ranging from ballroom to bachata. Dancers will also have the opportunity to experience both group classes and private lessons to see which best suits them.
“Dance is a full mind, body and soul exercise that can benefit both individuals and couples together, but often the hardest thing to do is actually walking in the front door,” Amanda explained. “Once they do, literally in all of my years working in a studio, I’ve never had one person say they’ve regretted spending that time or money.”
It’s even how Amanda herself got into dance.
“I can really relate to my students because of the way I got into dance and how it changed my life,” Amanda shared. “I began classes after a divorce, and it just grew from there. I even went on to meet my husband through dance.”
Since that first class, Amanda has worked as an instructor for 10 years with DanceMakers before taking ownership of one of the only independently-owned dance studios in Fort Worth the last three years.
About DanceMaker’s New Student Variety Package
As part of the package, dancers have the opportunity to attend two intro-level private lessons in the styles they choose, with additional group classes available to add on.
Styles offered include Latin-style dances like salsa, rumba and tango, technical ballroom dances like the waltz, as well as more social dance styles like bar-style country and hip hop.
NEW STUDENT VARIETY PACKAGE
2 intro level private lessons – $75
Optional add ons (once purchased above lessons):
4 group classes – $19/person
OR
1 month unlimited Level 1 group classes – $79/person
Chris, another dance student, even enjoyed their classes so much that they got the other members of the family involved.
“I started with bachata group classes, and everything was great so I started taking waltz classes,” Chris said. “The one-on-one private sessions with the instructors is additional, but it really helps tie in the group classes. It’s such a good thing, I now have my 12-year-old son taking intro to ballroom and private swing lessons. I would, and do, recommend husbands and wives—heck the whole family—to get immersed into learning dance at a formal level, and this is a great place to get the instruction.”

DanceMakers of Texas is a great place for couples old and new to discover a new hobby that they can enjoy together.
DanceMaker’s unique variety of styles offered, especially in comparison to other studios, is just one of many things that keeps student Ali S. coming back every week for private lessons despite living closer to other schools.
“I’ve trained under Amanda Brown for about 5 months now and there is literally no finer instructor than her,” she continued. “I do go to another school occasionally only because it’s closer to my house, but I take what I learn in other places and make sure Amanda perfects it. Whether you're starting from scratch or have been dancing for years, I always leave her class feeling better than when I walked in.”

Ongoing group classes and events
DanceMakers’ New Student Variety Package is also great for those looking to socialize or are new to the area, looking to meet people. DanceMakers also offers a full calendar of group lessons offered at every level as well as special events every month.
In about six months, Robert, another dance student, went from “absolute beginners” to showing off their moves and dancing with other students at DanceMakers’ Friday night events.
“I really like the progressive group classes that are small enough to give some individual attention and are included in the package when you sign up for a private instructor,” Robert explained. “They also sponsor a dance every Friday night which is a good place to get out and dance with others and practice in a more ‘real-world’ setting. It's fun to watch the mix of beginners and experienced people dancing together.”
DanceMakers of Texas holds Friday events where students can enjoy the payoff from their lessons in a more social environment.
In lessons and at these events, you’ll get to meet a number of different people because dance itself draws in people from all walks of life, Amanda highlighted.
“We have all types of students because everybody comes in for a different reason,” she said. “It could be to get in better physical shape or to meet some new people in the area. We also see a number of couples, whether they’re getting married or they’ve been together for 50 years and are looking to learn something new together.”
Classes are even popular with those struggling with Alzheimer's and Dementia because of dance’s connection to learning and balance. So, not only may students pick up some new moves, but they’ll also have the chance to walk away from the lesson feeling more confident.
