Before: exposed brick and oak cabinets made the kitchen dark and dated.
The housing market is so hot right now that properties are snatched up before you can say, “What's the asking price?”
So what's a buyer to do when they’re lucky enough to find a house that checks off most boxes but doesn’t precisely match their personal style? Instead of passing up what could be the perfect home because of an outdated kitchen or less-than-ideal bathrooms, consider transforming the space to make it truly feel like yours.
Whether you’re looking to update your existing space or design something completely new, The Kitchen Source has an award-winning team of certified professional designers that can bring your vision to life. Their full turn-key design and remodel services expertly guide you through each step with confidence and understanding, according to your specific needs.
“From the initial contact with my designer to the final checklist, I couldn't have been happier,” client Deborah Lonergan says. “The Kitchen Source team is wonderful to work with, the project came in on time and on budget, and the result is gorgeous.”
Kitchen and bathroom designer Elizabeth Tranberg, AKBD recently worked with a client to transform their dark, rustic kitchen into an airy, modern space perfect for entertaining.
“Our client moved into this home and knew the kitchen was a top priority,” she says. “It included dated materials with heavy stone and a layout that was not cohesive to entertaining friends and family. Introducing different elements of texture and sheen, along with monochromatic color, created a transitional elegant space with a large island that boasts entertainment and function.”

After: custom-made cabinets and luxury appliances update the space and make it more funcitonal.
Tranberg replaced dark, oak cabinets with custom cabinetry from Wood Mode that are stunning and provide extra storage. The gold hardware accents add to the luxurious and modern feel of the new kitchen.
The old exposed brick and dark counters that previously made the space feel heavy and outdated were removed. In their place are gorgeous tile and counters from Bottega Design Gallery and appliances fit for a chef from Sub-Zero and Wolf.
