Four Day Weekend
All we’ve ever wanted to do is make people laugh. Laughter is important. It has health benefits; psychological perks. It can make you more attractive. To a certain degree. Anyways, it’s powerful stuff.
For the last couple of years, we’ve all been laughing less and less. Little by little, the laughter got softer and softer. Because laughter is something we do together. Think about when you’re sitting alone at home. You may chuckle while watching something on your phone. It’s not really even a chuckle. It’s just a puff of air from your nose onto your upper lip while you smirk. That’s not a laugh. That’s just… irregular breathing.
Laughter comes from your core. It’s a full body experience. It fills your lungs, pushes up from your gut, races through your windpipe, and explodes into the world, telling everyone within earshot: I GET IT!
How many times have you tried to share a funny story with a friend only to end the retelling with “Well, I guess you just had to be there…”? Laughter is in the moment. True laughter (I’m talking about the howling, belly-laughing, wiping-tears-from-your-eyes, can’t-catch-your-breath-and-starting-to-get-dizzy kind of laughter) is a shared experience. And it’s an experience we want to share with you.
For nearly twenty-five years, Four Day Weekend has been entertaining audiences in Sundance Square at the heart of Downtown Fort Worth. Our signature comedy show is based completely on audience suggestions, so every performance is as unique as the crowd itself. It’s comedy through collaboration.
Whether it’s date night or your bachelorette party or your entire extended family is in from out of town and just need someplace to put them all for an evening, we’re here for you. We believe laughter should unite, form unforgettable moments, and create new experiences give life that undeniable… lifey flavor.
When our theaters were closed and we couldn’t perform, we missed you. I mean, we really missed you. We were fortunate enough to reopen the Four Day Weekend comedy show last May and the crowds have been incredible. Thank you to everyone who has come out. It finally feels like we’re learning to laugh together again.
If you haven’t been out to a show, do your weekend a favor. Shows are on Fridays at 8pm and Saturdays at 7pm and 9pm at the Four Day Weekend Theater in Sundance Square. So get your tickets at fourdayweekend.com, grab dinner downtown, and come on over for a night laughter, drinks, and music. I could keep talking about it, but I guess… you just have to be there.
