Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains
Girl Scouts run the largest girl-led entrepreneurship program in the world, the Girl Scout Cookie Program, allowing them to learn the art of running a business. Girl Scouts acquire important life skills like goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. All proceeds from the cookie program stays local to power Girl Scouts’ amazing experiences year-round.
And when we say all proceeds stay local, we mean it.
Girl Scouts use their cookie program to offset national and international travel, just like Olivia did last summer when she went with fellow Girl Scouts to Belize. Olivia says, “This trip was honestly one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. I would like to thank all of the people who bought Girl Scout cookies in order to get me there. It wouldn’t have been possible to do any of this without y’all!”
Girl Scouts use their cookie program to offset expenses of attending Girl Scout Summer Camp, just like Alice did last summer attending a horsemanship camp at Stevens Ranch in Nemo, Texas. Alice experienced riding a horse for the first time, while also learning proper grooming and care techniques. Like many Girl Scouts, Girl Scout Summer Camp is not possible without the benefits of the Cookie Program.
Girl Scouts use their cookie proceeds to fund their highest award projects, just as Troop 3412 did to earn their Silver Award. The Silver Award is the highest award a Cadette (grades 6-8) can earn as they team up with a small group of fellow Girl Scouts to research an issue, make a plan to address it, and then take action to improve their community. Troop 3412 designed and installed a bilingual augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) board at a local park in Burleson. Burleson Parks and Recreation told the girls that they are excited to continue their idea by adding AAC boards to future park renovations. The community has also spoken out about the board, including one mother who wrote, “"From a momma with a son who has autism, thank you for the communication board, Troop 3412 🥹"

For Girl Scouts, the cookie program is more than selling a box of cookies. It’s a chance to travel. It’s a chance at adventure. It’s a chance to make a difference in the community.
Now through March 2 is your chance to support Girl Scouts travel, summer camp, community projects, and more by purchasing Girl Scout cookies.
How to Purchase Girl Scout Cookies This Year:
- If you know a registered Girl Scout, reach out to her to find out how she's selling cookies.
