Bobby Patton of Fort Worth is now part of the new ownership team of the LosAngeles Dodgers. Guggenheim Baseball Management - led by former Lakers star Magic Johnson - closed at $2.15-billion deal for the team.
The sale could close by the end of April if it gets the approval of Major League Baseball and a federal bankruptcy court.
Patton, who holds investments in oil, gas real estate and publishing, is one of six members of the new ownership team. The Los Angeles Times reported that the Dodgers' home opener April 10 sold out following the news.
