The College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings, released Tuesday night, show that Texas Christian University (TCU) moved into the CFP first four. TCU jumped from sixth to fourth in the rankings, ahead of Alabama, after TCU's win against Kansas State. The current top four football teams in the rankings are No. 1 Mississippi State, No. 2 Oregon, No. 3 Florida State and No. 4 TCU.
Baylor moved up significantly after their defeat of Oklahoma, going from 12th to 7th. Despite Baylor's 61-58 win over TCU, they are still behind their Big 12 rivals. TCU's overall body of work, which includes two wins against the top 25 (Minnesota and Kansas State) outweighed Baylor's 61-58 victory against the Horned Frogs. TCU also beat Oklahoma at home, 37-33.
The CFP will release the final rankings on Dec. 7. The top four teams will play in the semifinals on Jan. 1st and the winners will meet on Jan. 12th for the CFP championship at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
