NEIGHBORHOOD SUMMARY:
The beautiful neighborhood of Crestwood sits on the West Fork of the Trinity River and is marked by towering trees (which proud residents will proclaim are often in the middle of the road), winding streets and varied architecture. The neighborhood is a prime location for outdoor lovers with a nearby hike and bike trail and park with a public golf course, baseball and soccer fields.
Crestwood hit a boom in the 1940s when the Air Force base came to Fort Worth, but a flood in 1949 heavily damaged the area threatening the future of the neighborhood. Crestwood was soon rebuilt and levees and lakes were implemented to prevent further flooding.
