The Lunch Box, which currently serves Black Rooster Bakery products on Saturdays, will soon be getting more goodies from the Forest Park bakery and vice versa.
Imran Khan, who owns both, plans to expand the kitchen at The Lunch Box to make Black Rooster Bakery products in-house and sell them on-site. About 2,400 square feet will be added to The Lunch Box's kitchen, for a total of 4,800 square feet.
He also plans to bring some of The Lunch Box's menu to the Black Rooster Bakery – that way, customers at either location can enjoy food from both.
Khan says he expects to roll out a full line of bakery products at The Lunch Box once the kitchen renovation finishes in May.
The Lunch Box has a loyal following at its 6333 Camp Bowie Blvd. location, known for its signature chicken salad sandwich. The Black Rooster Bakery, located at 2430 Forest Park Blvd., is known for pastries like scones, croissants and hand pies.
