Entrepreneurs and coffee buffs take note -- a new coffee shop and coworking space is coming to the Near Southside.
Matt and Janice Townsend, the entrepreneurs behind Roots Coffeehouse in North Richland Hills and woodworking company Freeform Woodworks, will open a second Roots Coffeehouse location and coworking space at the 400 block of Bryan Avenue in the South Main Urban Village. The coworking space, Criterion CoWorking, will be two stories with an open-office concept. The coffee shop will be open to the community.
Architect Matthijs Melchiors of MelArch Architectural Studio will help build the development, and construction is expected to begin in the spring.
“We hope to create a collaborative workspace for local entrepreneurs wanting to work in community," Janice Townsend said. “We're excited to be a part of this growing and transforming neighborhood as Main Street reopens."
