Salsa Limón will be breaking ground on its sixth location Monday in the Near Southside.
The rapidly growing taquería, which is popular for its traditional Mexico City street-style favorites with Oaxacan influence, will be located at 1455 Magnolia Ave. and 1465 Magnolia Ave., as part of an 18,000-square-foot development that will also house vintage record store Panther City Vinyl.
Developers Hatfield Properties and Dodson Companies are heading the project, with Studio 97w serving as architect and Crimson Building Company serving as contractor. The developers estimate that the new development will be open by the end of 2017.
This is the third time in the last six months that owner Ramiro “Milo” Ramirez, and co-owner and sister Rosalia Ramirez, have expanded their business. Salsa Limón recently opened a downtown location, transferred its Museo location to The River District and plans a location in downtown Dallas.
Salsa Limón offers items like the Molca Bowl, filled with a bed of rice, refried beans, onion, cilantro and a filling of the customer's choice, as well as specialty tacos like the El Capitán, wrapped in a buttery toasted flour tortilla, filled with melted Oaxaca-Jack cheese, pickled cabbage, onion, cilantro and the customer's choice of a meat (or vegetarian filling).
