Yelp released its Top 100 Restaurants in Texas list on Wednesday — with five local favorites making the cut.
Foch Street sushi joint Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar ranked the highest at No. 11, with North Fort Worth's Del Campo Empanadas at No. 14, Hawaiian-inspired seafood concept Coco Shrimp at No. 24, Northeast Fort Worth Asian restaurant Sikhay Thai Lao Cuisine at No. 40, and the Near Southside's Taste Community Restaurant at No. 78.
Yelp's data science team determined the list by identifying businesses in the restaurants category, then ranking those spots using factors like total volume and rating of reviews between Jan. 1, 2016 and April 16, 2021. According to Yelp, nearly all the businesses on the list are priced under $30 per person (or marked as "$$" on Yelp).
The No. 1 restaurant was Comfort Cafe out of San Antonio. Other restaurants in the Metroplex like Tommy Tamale Market & Cafe in Grapevine and Aladdin Cafe in Crowley also made the list.
