Calling all foodies! Fort Worth Magazine celebrates the local culinary scene by hosting the ultimate action-packed culinary competition of the year, the Top Chef Challenge.

Join chef host Jon Bonnell and emcee Scott Murray as four competing chefs battle it out to be crowned Fort Worth Magazine’s Top Chef. Watch the chefs cook while you participate in live auctions, sip on cocktails and grab a bite at this annual event.

  COMPETING CHEFS  

Keith Hicks

Chef Keith Hicks is Executive Chef at The Rim, a Burleson restaurant known for its unique and popular food and drink offerings. Previously, Chef Hicks was Owner and Executive Chef at Buttons Restaurant. Throughout his career, Chef Hicks has been privileged to work alongside an array of highly-acclaimed chefs including Wolfgang Puck and Chris Ward. His exceptional talent has earned him numerous accolades, and he has been featured in numerous TV cooking segments and magazine publications.

Chef Jenna Kinard is the Executive Chef of the forthcoming (Fall 2020) Hotel Drover and will oversee the development of 97 West Kitchen and Bar and the culinary programs throughout the property. Her cooking experience stems from working in a variety of kitchens and catering companies across Fort Worth and the country. A native of the Houston area, Jenna will use her passion for scratch-made dishes by taking traditional dishes and reinventing them with a sophisticated twist for the modern palate

Max Zubboli

Chef Max Zubboli is Executive Chef of Zeno’s on the Square. He graduated from the prestigious culinary school, the Istituto Alberghiero Giacomo Matteotti, in Pisa, Italy and trained under a number of famous Italian chefs. Zubboli relocated to Texas in 2017 to open Zeno’s on the Square, which serves fresh, authentic Italian dishes and an extensive selection of fine Italian wines.

Chef Kobi Perdue is Executive Chef of Paris 7th and Saint-Emilion. Kobi has been with Paris 7th since the upscale French restaurant opened in March 2018. Prior to that, Chef Perdue for three years ruled the open kitchen at sister restaurant Saint-Emilion. This Weatherford native turns out roast duck, Dover sole, prime beef and his signature array of fresh vegetables - and much more - on a nightly basis.

Skills Challenge
Who can do the assigned skill the best?

9 Minute Dish Challenge
Chefs are challenged to come up with a dish in only 9 minutes with assigned ingredients.

25 Minute Perfect Plate
The BIG Challenge - chefs are given 25 minutes to come up with a divine plate using assigned ingredients. Plates will be auctioned off in the "5th Plate Auction" (see below for description).

AUCTIONS

Dream Meal Auction (Live Auction)*
Help us give back! The "Dream Meal Auction" will include a Top Chef participant to come to your home to prepare a full-meal (wine excluded) for eight, OR a “chef's table” dinner with wine pairings for eight at the chef’s restaurant.

5th Plate Auction (Silent Auction)**
Plates from the "Perfect Plate Challenge" (see challenge above) will be auctioned off to the audience, where four lucky winners will get to enjoy the fabulous meal at the event.
