The Radler is located in a Craftsman bungalow on Seventh Avenue.
From new bars to a selfie studio, there's a lot of activity happening between Magnolia Avenue and the South Main district. Here's a look at the latest locally owned spots that opened within the past two weeks.
The Radler: Opens Wednesday
1229 Seventh Ave.
The 1914 Craftsman bungalow at the corner of Seventh and Magnolia is welcoming a new watering hole after previously serving as home to The Bearded Lady and Magnolia Tree Tavern. It's now The Radler, a biergarten and restaurant with a distinctly German flair, opening Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Lockwood Distilling: Now open
1411 W. Magnolia Ave., lockwooddistilling.com
The self-dubbed "little sister" location of Richardson's Lockwood Distilling is now open on Magnolia. The shop's well-stocked with whiskey, gin, rum, vodka, and the popular bourbon cream liqueur; but be sure to also drop in for lunch or dinner to try the crafted, gourmet sandwiches.
Tricks of the Trade: Now open
219 S. Main St., tricksbottleshop.com
South Main has a new bottle shop right by the Joeckel Law Office, and its owner is no stranger to the Near Southside — Fort Worth bartender Megan McClinton, who built her name at Proper and The Usual (and Thompson's Bookstore downtown) before most recently serving as tasting room general manager at Blackland Distillery.
The Body Scrubbery: Now open
519 Pennsylvania Ave., thebodyscrubbery.com
For those in need of a little self-care, The Body Scrubbery offers an array of body scrubs and other services like facials, foot peels, and cosmetic tattoos. Guests can also book the space for bath bomb-making parties, complete with wine.
The Dream Vault Studio: Now open
1510 W. Magnolia Ave., Ste. 100, dreamvaultstudio.com
Built for the 'gram, The Dream Vault Studio features 18 photo-friendly backdrops that take about an hour to get through. Hire the studio's photographer to snap professional pics or bring your own camera — stands are available for you to set up your phone.
Kendall Davis Clay/The Holly: Now open
305 W. Daggett Ave., kendalldavisclay.com, thehollyftw.com
A new building on West Daggett is playing host to a double-act of locally owned shops — The Holly, an organic wine bar and retailer, and Kendall Davis Clay, a ceramic studio. Naturally, both plan to collaborate on events like pottery classes and sip-and-shops.
