For all thrill seekers in the Near Southside — an axe-throwing center is opening to entertain guests and hopefully relieve some stress.
Stumpy’s Hatchet House will open Friday at 824 W. Daggett Ave. With 11 throwing pits, food, games, and a retro arcade, Stumpy’s plans to host events like birthdays, corporate parties, and holiday get-togethers, all while maintaining proper sanitation and keeping a safe, six-foot distance.
In 2015, owners Mark and Trish Oliphant and Stuart and Kelly Josberger began their axe-throwing business in New Jersey after the two couples found themselves in a friendly competition. Since then, their franchise has grown all across the U.S., with Fort Worth becoming Stumpy's 24th location.
To celebrate, Stumpy's will welcome the public for a grand opening this Friday, featuring a night of live performances by Rob Redwine, giveaways, and more.
