Balfour Beatty
The Crowley school district is planning a number of construction projects, including $100 million in renovations and additions to two schools in the Crowley school district.
Balfour Beatty, in joint venture with GCC Enterprises, was selected to deliver the work on North Crowley High School as well as North Crowley’s 9th Grade Center.
Designed by VLK Architects, the project features 150,000-square-feet of additions and renovations, including classroom additions, cafeteria expansion, courtyard renovation, classroom flooring replacement, athletic additions, library refresh and more.
Balfour Beatty has a 90% share in the joint venture with GCC Enterprises holding 10%, according to a press release.
The work is scheduled to be delivered in December 2026.
Also, in an 80:20 joint venture, Balfour Beatty and Alpha and Omega Industries have been selected to construct a new, $80 million middle school for the school district.
The project features a 190,000-square-foot facility that will accommodate approximately 1,100 students.
The full contract award is expected in Spring 2025 with construction activities scheduled to start in April 2025.
"These awards are major wins for our team in expanding our education project portfolio in Texas,” said Damon Maldonado, Balfour Beatty vice president in North Texas, in a statement. “Through our extensive K-12 market expertise and collaboration with our joint venture partners, Balfour Beatty looks forward to delivering vital renovations and additions to these school campuses and providing enhanced learning spaces for Crowley ISD students, faculty and staff.”
The work is part of a $948.2 million bond package approved by residents last year. In total, seven new schools, including three elementary schools and the middle school, will be constructed.
The school district has an enrollment of approximately 17,000 students, according to the district’s count earlier this year.
The school district is also accepting “Request for Proposals” for naming rights to the new CISD Multi-Purpose Stadium and interactive display boards for classrooms.
Crowley incorporated as a school district in 1905.
Balfour Beatty has provided construction services and K-12 expertise to surrounding school districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for more than 25 years, including the delivery of the 532,000-square-foot Braswell High School in Denton ISD, the three-story Walker Middle School in Little Elm ISD and Evans Elementary School athletic renovations in Allen ISD.
