When it comes to the world's best places to visit, America has its eyes on us — at least, according to Travel + Leisure.
The magazine just released its reader-voted World's Best Awards, which includes various categories such as The Top 100 Hotels in the World and Top Cities everywhere from Asia to Australia.
Among the Top 15 Cities in the U.S., Fort Worth lands at No. 12 with a score of 82.25.
The ranking comes after a roughly five-month voting campaign that took place between Jan. 11 and May 10. With their travel experiences over the past three years in mind, readers rated cities based on their sights and landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping, and overall value.
The No. 1 city, which has held that spot for 9 years in a row, is Charleston, South Carolina. That's followed by Santa Fe; Savannah, Georgia; New Orleans; and New York City, in that order. San Antonio and Austin also made the list at No. 6 and No. 13, respectively.
And we know, we know — Fort Worth is No. 1 in our hearts. But 12 out of 15 isn't a bad place to be and certainly way better than not making the list at all.
You know, like Dallas.
