If you want to go to tomorrow’s Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, you’ll need to go to the secondary market to buy tickets.
The 11 a.m. game between Oklahoma (6-6) and Roger Staubach’s Navy (9-3) at TCU’s Amon G. Carter Stadium is officially sold out, bowl representatives announced on Christmas Eve.
That means we’re expecting the largest-attended game in the bowl’s 22-year history, eclipsing the 44,738 who attended the 2018 game between Army and Houston.
Amon G. Carter’s capacity is 46,000.
“When this matchup was announced, we knew we were in store for a record crowd,” Armed Forces Bowl Executive Director Brant Ringler said in a statement. “We are very thankful for the passionate Oklahoma and Navy fan bases and for our Fort Worth community turning out in huge numbers to celebrate these teams and honor our veterans and active-duty service members.”
Oklahoma is playing in the Armed Forces Bowl for the first time, while Navy is making its third appearance.
The Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl is played in honor of the Armed Forces of the United States, the first collegiate football bowl game to host all three U.S. Military Academy football teams. This marks the 14th time in the past 18 years that the game has featured an academy team.
If, in the end, you can’t find a ticket, the game is on ESPN. The sports-all-the-time network and its advertisers would love to have you.
