Simone Biles during the 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships at Dickies Arena
The Olympics may be over, but Fort Worthians still have a chance to see star gymnast Simone Biles in action this fall.
Biles will be making a stop at Dickies Arena on Oct. 9 for the Gold Over America Tour, a gymnastics show meant to "[celebrate] the pure joy of performing," Biles said in a statement.
Other gymnasts joining Biles include Jordan Chiles, Mykayla Skinner, Laurie Hernandez, Morgan Hurd, Peng-Peng Lee, and Katelyn Ohashi. The show will last about 110 minutes, including intermission.
Biles was in Fort Worth this past June for the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, claiming her seventh title prior to the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. She made headlines during the 2020 Summer Olympics when she withdrew from various events to focus on her mental health — even so, Biles came away with a bronze medal on balance beam and silver with the U.S. team. Between appearances at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and 2020 Games in Tokyo, the Spring, Texas, native has seven medals total, including four gold.
