More development is coming to East Rosedale Street with the addition of a new housing community for students at Texas Wesleyan University.
Student housing developer Panteras Development Partners and owner-operator Miyama USA Texas announced Monday that they've entered into a long-term ground lease with Texas Wesleyan University. The groups will be building a 56-unit, 101-bed apartment complex called The Rosedale, located at 3228 E. Rosedale St., less than a minute away from campus.
With Fort Worth architect Steven Halliday of 97w tapped as architect, Miyama USA Texas and Panteras worked closely with Texas Wesleyan's Division of Student Affairs and also received input from current graduate and undergraduate students on The Rosedale's design.
The three-story building will feature a modern exterior, incorporating design elements consistent with other buildings on campus. Inside, each apartment will have an option to come fully furnished and will have wood-style flooring in common areas, an in-unit washer and dryer, high-end finishes, first-class appliances, and cable and high-speed internet. Amenities include student lounges with large-screen televisions and dedicated study areas.
It's all part of the "Rosedale Renaissance" — Texas Wesleyan's $6.5 million initiative to revitalize its campus and the Polytechnic neighborhood. Other projects that were part of this initiative were the Nick and Lou Martin University Center and Ben's Triple B, a restaurant by acclaimed Fort Worth chef Ben Merritt, both already open.
The Rosedale is expected to open fall 2022.
“We are extremely pleased to partner with Miyama Texas USA and Panteras Development in providing our students with such a unique living experience,” Texas Wesleyan president Fred Slabach said in a statement. “The welcoming, sophisticated environment of the student housing, in a location that allows students to be fully integrated with the campus community, will raise the bar for student living at Texas Wesleyan while fulfilling our strategic vision by enriching our students’ campus experience.”
