Fort Worth-based nonprofit The WARM Place is hosting a fundraiser it's never done before, letting donors tee off to help grieving children and their families.
Taking place at the Texas Rangers Golf Club on May 14, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., this golf tournament — dubbed "The WARM Place Classic – Fore the Children" — will include prizes, a raffle, lunch, and a lot of competition. All proceeds will benefit the mission of The WARM Place — to provide grief support for those who have suffered the death of a loved one.
There will be several prizes and contests, along with a chance to win $10,000 on hole 15 for making a hole-in-one and $5,000 for one lucky finalist in the putting contest. There will also be prizes for the longest drive, closest to the pin, and straightest drive competitions.
Online team and player registration is now open. Single players will pay $350 to play, and a team entry fee is $1,400.
Through the tournament, The WARM Place hopes to raise $90,000 to support its mission. As of April 6, the organization has raised almost $52,000, thanks to players, donors, and sponsors.
