Each year, Texas Christian University hosts a commemorative event honoring and recognizing the men and women who have been affected by breast cancer in our nation. In celebrating the university's eleventh year of Frogs for the Cure, former participants of NBC’s “The Voice,” Luke Wade and Mia Z, will be singing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
TCU Frogs for the Cure allows the community to come together in a unique way. The event not only participates in fundraising for the Susan G. Komen foundation, but also assists in spreading awareness and support within our local community.
“TCU Frogs for the Cure and Susan G. Komen are doing great work,” said Wade, a season 7 finalist of “The Voice.” “I watched both of my grandmothers struggle with breast cancer when I was growing up. It is such an honor and privilege to lend my voice to this cause which has had a personal impact on me.”
The past six years, the event has centered on creating an inspirational music video, showcasing members of the Horned Frog family, and surrounding community. Each year, a new song is chosen to serve as inspiration and hope for the families and victims of breast cancer.
This year's Frogs for the Cure music video will include scenes from Los Angeles and Montana. The video will be released Thursday, October 29, when the TCU Horned Frogs take on the West Virginia University Mountaineers for TCU’s Frogs for the Cure home football game.
“Frogs for the Cure is led by Ann Louden, who serves on the TCU Chancellor's executive team and is a breast cancer survivor.”
