In the two years since Fort Worth Bike Sharing launched its first station, more than 30,000 riders have taken 60,000 trips and traveled 200,000 miles. Now they’ll be adding eight new stations and 50 new bicycles, making Funkytown more cycle-friendly than ever.
On Friday, May 29, Fort Worth Bike Sharing will be celebrating its largest expansion since the program was unveiled in April 2013. The event will take place from 11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Stockyards Visitors Center. Representatives from the program will be making a grand entrance, riding in on the heels of a herd of Texas Longhorns. Mayor Betsy Price, vocal cycling advocate and Fort Worth’s best known Night Rider will join the ride.

Mayor Price will also be helping ‘throw the switch' - a gesture intended to acknowledge and celebrate the $35,000 worth of solar panels donated by the Green Mountain Energy Solar Club, which will be used to power 10 bike sharing stations.

The 8 new stations will be located at:
Forest Park & Park Hill (at 7-11)
Moncrief Cancer Institute (Magnolia & St. Louis)
Panther Island Pavilion (Taylor traffic circle)
Trinity Park South (east of intersection of Trinity Park and Old University)
Riverfront Drive (near Woodshed)
Stockyards Station (outside Visitors Center)
Texas & Henderson (near Walgreens)
Trinity Uptown (near TownePlace Suites)
