Fort Worth will move forward with the new Fort Worth Multipurpose Arena at Will Rogers Memorial Center using private donations to cover half the cost. Private sector donations, led by Ed Bass, will make up half of the $450 million projected project cost.
Fort Worth residents voted on Nov. 4 to approve new user fees that will make up 15 percent of the arena's cost. The project is a 14,000-seat arena that will host concerts, shows, sporting events and rodeos, to name a few.
The City will own the arena and a non profit organization will be responsible for its operational costs and management.
