I apologize if I'm late in providing a helpful tip to filling out those March Madness brackets at your office.
We just finished putting to bed the largest edition in the history of Fort Worth, Texas magazine – 276 pages. A magazine that size tends to distract you.
You'll enjoy it, I suspect. There's a lot to read in the book. It's the annual Top Docs issue and health care journalist Steve Jacob checks in with an article on the changing face of medical administration – a concerted effort by hospitals to include physicians at top levels on the management team. Managing Editor Jennifer Casseday-Blair takes a look at Generation Rx, writing that society's fascination with finding a wonder drug can lead to the abuse of prescription medication.
Gail Bennison writes about last year's fires that became known as the Possum Kingdom Complex. I'm indebted to the Lake Country Sun for sharing some spectacular photographs with us.
Food critic Courtney Dabney details our 30 favorite spots to find soup or a sandwich. There's a stunning fashion layout, just in time for spring by Kelly Link.
And much, much more.
But back to the NCAA.
Mike Stricklin is an old friend from Baylor days and a former assistant managing editor at the Star-Telegram before earning a Ph.D. becoming a professor of journalism and then retiring to Brazil where he and wife Chere served in the Peace Corps. He was early into technology and statistics and stuff like that, and he shared a link with me about using Graph Theory to predict the winners in March Madness.
Not sure I really understand this, but it's an interesting read. Here's the link: http://blog.biophysengr.net/2012/03/eigenbracket-2012-using-graph-theory-to.html?spref=fb&m=1
Enjoy and – please forgive me – Go Bears.
