First … an apology and excuse.
I've been missing in action on this blog but it is not for lack of interest. It has been because of lack of time.
Since my last posting here, we've completed and published a commemorative issue on Coach Gary Patterson becoming the most winning coach in TCU'S football history. There are other coaches with more Ws, but they coach in sports that play many more games in a season than football teams play.
If you are a subscriber, you got that magazine with your October issue. It's not on newsstands because we can't bag magazines together for sales on the stands. There are limited numbers available for direct purchase from the magazine. The price is $10 plus mailing and you may call 817.560.6111 to purchase one.
The Patterson issue was a special edition, meaning that we have published three magazines in two months.
This is the annual Dream Home edition with tours going on all through this month. You'll want to see this treasure of a home for a number of reasons — the setting is in an area that was part of the legendary Edwards Ranch that has played such a pivotal role in Fort Worth history.
Here are the details:
Where: 3824 Riverhills View Drive
Benefiting: American
Heart Association
Tour Dates: Through Oct. 28
Times: Wednesday - Saturday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sundays, noon - 5 p.m.
Admission: $10
Also in this edition, long-time Fort Worth journalist Mary Rogers takes a look at the efforts to reduce the number of stray animals in the area that are euthanized — let's skip the fancy word and call it what is really is: killed — because they had no owners and no one wants them.
There's much, much more. But those are the highlights.
