Trump Store
About 20 minutes from Fort Worth, up north in Watauga just off Denton Highway, sits an approximately 2,800-square-foot shop that's something like a right-wing voter's fever dream.
Trump Store DFW, located at 6500 Denton Highway in Watauga, is exactly what it sounds like — a store stocked with all things Donald Trump, from hoodies and T-shirts to playing cards and teddy bears.
The Trump store happens to have a Fort Worth connection, too — it's owned by Mary Talley, vice president of Fort Worth-based Talley Amusements, which supplies the midway rides for events like the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.
Talley — a Republican, as is obvious — says she decided to open the shop after the COVID-19 pandemic slowed down business with events canceling throughout the year. Unable to set up rides for carnivals, Talley began buying Trump merchandise and selling it at pop-up events. She opened the brick and mortar in September.
"The people's enthusiasm about coming to the Trump store is unbelievable," she says. "When they walk in, they have a grin from ear to ear ... There is an energy inside the store that's undeniable."
There hasn't been much push-back either, Talley says, adding that the store has not been met with any protestors nor supporters of Joe Biden. "It's been pleasant and peaceful," she says.
And, with Election Day less than a week away, Talley doesn't see the store closing anytime after that.
"After seeing all the enthusiasm for President Trump all over, watching the different rallies throughout the country, I just can't imagine him not winning," Talley says. "The Trump Store will be able to stay open for sure until the inauguration."
