EpicCentral
EpicCentral is DFW’s newest entertainment district located in Grand Prairie.
With the summer fast approaching and the kiddos about to enter vacation mode, Fort Worth families are in need to plan quick getaways to keep the entertainment flowing through the hot months of the year.
One destination, which lies only a hop and a skip from Cowtown, is Grand Prairie’s EpicCentral. The massive 172-acre entertainment destination is chock full of enough delightful excursions to give the family multiple days of fun. Whether you and the fam choose to partake in cliff hangin’, wave slayin’, or pickleball crushin’ activities, there’s no shortage to keep the kids smiling and parents delighted.
Here’s just a taste of the fun awaiting your family adventure:
SEE the amazing Vegas-style Water and Light Show.
The upcoming Vegas-style water and light show will drop the jaws of every boy, girl, or parent spectator. The show is currently in rehearsals, so the water feature’s “choreography” is perfect for its grand debut in June. Each 15-minute show includes sky-high shooting water fountains that dance to music while projecting amazing lights and imagery — its mountainous mist serving as a projector. This one-of-a-kind performance will have nightly showings throughout the evening. Admission is free, with three shows nightly.
PLAY at PlayGrand Adventures and Chicken N Pickle.
Slides, obstacle courses, and numerous other adventures await kids at PlayGrand Adventures, a safe space for kids and adults of all abilities to play together and learn. The sprawling park offers the little ones a stimulating area that will encourage the development of several skill sets while providing social interaction and a sense of discovery. Admission to the park is free and open from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week.
To get the entire family involved, Chicken N Pickle is a great way to get the whole fam’s heart rate up with one of the nation’s fastest-growing sports: pickleball. The area includes 11 pickleball courts (both indoor and outdoor), shuffleboard courts, an entire outdoor game yard, and a giant game room with table tennis and TV screens tuned to all the sports channels.
DIVE into Epic Waters.
The dog days of summer aren’t complete without a dip in the pool to cool off. Well, we recommend taking it a few steps further and making a splash with twisting luges, surfing simulators, and massive waterslides at Epic Waters — recognized by USA Today as a “10Best Indoor Waterpark” in America. Catch some rays around the outdoor wave pool. And don’t skimp out on the Locura, the waterpark’s new 70-foot-tall waterslide, which includes a stomach-churning 40-foot first drop and 360-degree horizontal loop.
LISTEN to live music at the JAMBOX.
Bring the blankets and lawn chairs for phenomenal family-friendly shows at this outdoor music stage that features local acts on the weekends. Check here often for an updated show schedule.
CLIMB the rocks at Bolder Adventure Park.
A true adventure park should have, well, a lot of adventures. We’d say Bolder Adventure Park, with 18 unique attractions, including zip-lining, archery, gem mining, skating, free-falling and, of course, rock climbing, has that covered. No matter your or your kiddo’s interests or ability — each attraction is tiered based on what each participant is able to tackle — this park has more than a little something for everyone.

There’s more to do at Bolder Adventure Park besides rock climbing.
FILL your bellies with delicious food.
Whether you and fam can gorge on anything under the sun or someone in your household is a little picky with their cuisine, EpicCentral offers an array of dining options. For those interested in sophisticated yet approachable fare, the newly opened The Finch has a diverse menu that includes delectable pasta dishes, steak, seafood, a raw bar, classic cocktails, and more.
Or, for those whose food of choice is slightly less polished, EpicCentral offers some of the Metroplex’s best smoked meats at Loop 9 BBQ and chicken that’ll rival any white-meat joint at Chicken N Pickle.
EpicCentral
The newly opened The Finch Grill & Raw Bar is all together non-nommin’ epic.
Really, you should try them all, ’cause we don’t expect you to visit EpicCentral just once.
