Thurber Mingus has permanently closed, the Tex-Mex and burger joint announced via Facebook on Thursday.
Representatives from Thurber Mingus confirmed the closure Thursday morning but did not disclose further details as to why the restaurant shut down.
The restaurant, located at 4400 White Settlement Road, opened in February 2015 and served a menu of American and Tex-Mex hybrid items like the goat cheese and bacon jam burger, pork shoulder tacos, and chips with queso blanco. Thurber Mingus was also known for its extensive drink menu featuring beer from local breweries, as well as its outdoor patio and garden used for live music performances.
Thurber Mingus got its name from two ghost towns along Interstate 20, Thurber and Mingus.
Chef Coby Baumann declined to comment on the closure.
