Who is eligible to be nominated for the Fort Worth Inc. Entrepreneur of Excellence Award?
Eligible candidates must:
- Be the owner and/or founder of a private company based in the greater Fort Worth area
- You must be active in the leadership of the company and in setting its strategic vision for the future.
- Have annual sales of at least $2,000,000
- Have been in business for at least two years

Primarily do business in on of these 11 award categories:
- Construction, commercial (General contractors, subcontractors, architecture, engineering, etc.)
- Construction, residential (Builders, subcontractors, architecture, engineering, etc.)
- Energy (Exploration and production, services, etc.)
- Healthcare and Life Sciences
- Hospitality (Lodging, restaurants, travel and tourism, etc.)
- Manufacturing (All manufacturing, including food and beverage, energy related manufacturing, etc.)
- Media/Communications/PR
- Professional services
- Real estate (builders, agents, etc.)
- Retail
- Transportation, logistics and distribution
What does it cost to nominate or apply for the Fort Worth Inc. EOE Award?
There is no cost to nominate a person, or to complete an application for this award.
Who can nominate someone for the Fort Worth Inc. EOE Award?
Anyone can nominate a worthy entrepreneur for this award or the entrepreneur can nominate himself or herself.
When will the nomination period end?
All nominations must be received no later than Monday, January 14, 2019 to be eligible.
How will candidates be judged?
All candidate applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges who will select three finalists from each category based on his or her responses to the questions/essays on the application form. Finalists will be notified and receive a profile in a special edition of Fort Worth Inc. magazine. Finalists will also attend the Fort Worth Inc. Entrepreneur of Excellence Awards Banquet in May of 2019 at which time a winner from each category will be announced.
What are the judging and data security rules?
All information contained in this application will be kept in strictest confidence and is for the use of our panel of independent judges in determining the qualifications of each applicant to receive the EOE award. Additionally, application information may also be used by Fort Worth Inc. magazine and a select group of presenting sponsors in order to properly manage the promotion, profiling and awards/trophy presentation of program finalists and winners. All parties taking part in this process will sign non-disclosure agreements, which will be on file at Fort Worth Inc. magazine.
How many winners will there be in each category?
There will be three finalists in each category, but only one winner in each category.
The winner from each category will:
- Be recognized as the Entrepreneur of Excellence in their category in a special edition of Fort Worth Inc. magazine along with a profile of their company.
- Receive a one-of-a-kind custom designed Fort Worth Inc. Entrepreneur of Excellence Trophy
- Promotional considerations from a variety of sponsors
- Future opportunities to speak at or participate in Fort Worth Inc. magazine events
- Induction into the Fort Worth Inc. Entrepreneur of Excellence Hall of Fame
