Lucchese Bootmaker has signed on for two destination stores in the Stockyards.
Stockyards Heritage Development Co. has announced a slate of new tenants coming to the Fort Worth Stockyards.
The Stockyards Heritage team announced plans in August of 2018 to restore and rehabilitate 180,000 square feet of historic Horse and Mule Barns, known as Mule Alley. The project is anchored by Hotel Drover, a new Autograph Collection boutique hotel. The four-star, 200-room hotel includes an event barn and meeting rooms. It’s expected to open in the fall of 2020.
Hotel Drover will include its signature restaurant, 97 West, that will feature regional cuisine from executive chef Jenna Kinard.
Since that announcement, Fort Worth’s M2G Ventures has joined the team to help bring together the rest of the tenants. “This is certainly not your typical leasing assignment,” says Jessica Miller, principal of M2G. “It is a rare opportunity to take our relationships with established western brands, tastemakers, progressive merchants, and savvy local entrepreneurs in the culinary, entertainment, and creative fields and challenge them to embrace the re-imagined Stockyards.”
Lucchese Bootmaker, has signed on for two destination stores – a retail showcase on Exchange Avenue offering 2,000 square feet of the iconic Western fashion and footwear that has made them a legend, and a first-ever custom boot shop in the lobby of the Hotel Drover. It will be the country’s first Lucchese Collection store, which will be an 800-square-foot luxury flagship, dedicated to custom-fit apparel and made-to-order boots, while the Mule Alley store will be one of only seven existing locations for the iconic Lucchese brand.
Also found at the Hotel Drover will be Little White Lies, an artisan shop with a decidedly feminine, yet rustic flare. The boutique will feature a collection of apparel, jewelry, bags, travel accessories, and gifts.
Inspired by the earliest general stores, MB Mercantile will be located in Mule Alley. Filled with rustic fixtures, vintage finds, and a balance of both nostalgic and modern goods, it will provide a new shopping experience for the Stockyards.
Chef Marcus Paslay, owner of both Piatello Italian and Clay Pigeon restaurants, will be opening his new, modern take on an American smokehouse ― the name for which has yet to be announced. Shake Shack has plans to open its first Fort Worth location later this year. Second Rodeo Brewing Co. by Jason Boso has chosen to expand his previously planned location to 14,000 square feet, offering on-site brewing along with casual dining and live music.
Two notable culinary trailblazers are also coming to Mule Alley as well. The new Sidesaddle Saloon will be an original concept from partners Sarah Castillo, Christian Lehrmann and Glen Keely. Sidesaddle pays homage to the spirit of the American Cowgirl, and guests can expect cocktails and Texas-style tapas in a rustic-modern, brick-walled, neo-saloon setting. Also joining Mule Alley is The Biscuit Bar, a unique concept serving up Southern charm on a biscuit. It will be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night snacking.
A tricked-out horse trailer will house Buckaroo Banana, an original concept serving up frozen banana treats on a stick dipped in warm chocolate with an ample choice of toppings. And another horse trailer concept will be Deputy Doggie serving Texas-style hot dogs created by Hotel Drover’s Executive Chef, Jenna Kinard.
Previously announced Simpli.fi, a digital advertising company, will occupy 77,000 square feet. American Paint Horse Association, with its offices, a theater, retail store, and meeting space will also open headquarters later this year in Mule Alley. RFDTV, Rural Radio, and the Cowboy Channel also recently opened the relocation of their corporate headquarters from Omaha and Nashville to the Stockyards.
Celebrations on Mule Alley will begin this November, with special grand opening events slated to occur alongside the city’s famed Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in mid-January 2020 ― in tandem with the 130th anniversary of the Stockyards.
