TX Whiskey aims to help alleviate the national shortage of sanitization products, producing hand sanitizer for frontline medical workers and first responders, the company announced this week. After consulting with the federal COVID-19 Task Force in March, TX Whiskey has officially shifted operations.
More than 800 gallons (the first 150 of which going to Fort Worth first responders), have been produced, and TX Whiskey estimates another 5,000 bottles in 375-milliliter packages will be made. That’s alongside more 64-ounce and 5-gallon packs.
“Though production is just beginning to ramp up, we are eager to see how the TX sanitizer process here at our distillery will supply those in need,” says Paul Di Vito, TX Whiskey General Manager, in a news release. “While TX typically brings people together with our spirits, we are honored to unite with our local and national communities for the greater health and welfare of our country.”
Sanitizer made at Whiskey Ranch is being provided directly to government officials, primarily FEMA and State Emergency Management, and not anyone directly at this time. These entities will distribute to areas with most pressing needs.
