The Fort Worth Stockyards have been booming with development, with plenty of new retail offerings lined up for 2020.
The Stockyards Heritage team has been working since August 2018 to restore and rehabilitate 180,000 square feet of historic Horse and Mule Barns, known as Mule Alley. The effort’s anchored by Hotel Drover, an Autograph Collection boutique hotel that’s set to open Oct. 2. The four-star resort boasts 200 rooms, an event barn and rustic flair throughout the facility.
With dozens of new businesses, restaurants, and tenants on the way, it’s hard to keep track of all the buzz in the historic district. But here’s some recent happenings and some of what to expect in coming months.
Preceding Hotel Drover, current open tenants include Shake Shack, which opened for business this past weekend, and new offices for The American Paint Horse Association, which just opened in recent weeks. Shake Shack has opened locations around North Texas, but the Stockyards location is the first in Fort Worth proper. As for the new APHA headquarters, new offices, a theater, retail store and meeting space adorn the official home of the international organization — a grand opening will be sometime in February.
On the horizon, MB Mercantile, Cowtown Winery, and Simpli.fi will further bolster the Stockyards. MB Mercantile, an original retail offering, will sell rustic fixtures and vintage finds. Cowtown Winery will be a full service winery offering wine by the glass and bottle handcrafted in the Stockyards, and Simpli.fi will be a digital ad agency that’ll wrangle about 450 employees into the new digs.
That trio of tenants is set to open in March with the additional tenants slated to open throughout the spring.
And there’s more to come, according to the Stockyards’ PR firm, Bread & Butter. A new tenant announcement will be made mid-February, says senior account executive Macy Bales. So be on the lookout for even further development than what’s already known.
