Billy Bob Thornton isn’t the only mega-star to be cast in the current production of the Taylor Sheridan co-produced show “Landman”. According to a release, playing opposite the Academy Award-Winning Thornton, will be Hollywood icon and veteran actress Demi Moore. Moore will portray the role of Cami, who the release says is the wife to one of the most powerful oil men in Texas and also “friend” to Thornton’s character Tommy Morris.
Sitting in the co-producer’s seat with Sheridan is Christian Wallace, host of the Texas Monthly podcast “Boomtown,” an 11-part series which the show “Landman” is based on. The series is described to be an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.
Besides Thornton and Moore, other cast members on the show include Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, and Paulina Chávez. “Landman”, which will appear on Paramount+, is described as “a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs,” and will be “set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas.”
Production is currently in the process in various sections of Cowtown, so don’t be surprised if you run into a person or two that looks familiar at some your favorite haunts. According to Decider.com, Showtime/MTV CEO and President Chris McCarthy deemed Moore “an iconic and extraordinary talent.”
McCarthy further stated, “We are thrilled to have her join Billy Bob Thornton and the star-studded cast of ‘Landman’, our next epic series from Taylor Sheridan.”
With the show still in production, there haven’t been any updates on when the series will officially air.
