For months, be that years, fans of the Taylor Sheridan series “Yellowstone” have proclaimed either their love or disdain for the popular Western drama streaming on Paramount +. Conspiracy theories have emerged since the show’s beginning and even worse, real-life infighting has taken center stage between cast members and Sheridan himself.
Over a month ago, “Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner walked off the show, leaving many fans scratching their heads. This combined with Sheridan’s almost prolific number of spinoffs and new series announcements has left a core group of fans of his first hit show wondering if he can complete anything. It seems, even in the wake of a possible finale spoiler, that “Yellowstone” fandom is still very much alive and well, especially here in North Texas.
Last week, Yellowstone Extras Casting, the group in charge of gleaning extras for scenes on the series, put out a call for extras to be in the upcoming “Lainey Wilson Concert Scene.” This scene, which will be shot on September 3 at an undisclosed location here in Fort Worth, brought “Yellowstone” fans back out in droves. So much so, that Yellowstone Extras Casting had to close the casting call earlier this week.
“Submissions for Lainey Wilson Concert Scene are closed,” a Facebook post read. “We haven't booked everyone yet. Stay patient if you can! Bookings are just getting underway, but we received an overwhelming amount of interest, (Thank you Texas!).”
If you are one of the extras chosen to be in this scene, be prepared to arrive early and work 10 to 12 hours. Although travel is not provided, everyone chosen to be in this scene will earn $110 in compensation.
Wilson herself recently did an interview on NBC stating she was a Hannah Montana look-alike for years before going out on her own as a country singer in real life. Wilson, who plays Abby, an aspiring musician and love interest of hired ranch worker and livestock agent Ryan, played by Ian Bohen, has appeared in four episodes of the first half of “Yellowstone” season 5.
Earlier this year, Wilson was quoted by Entertainment Tonight stating she would be stunned if producers invited her back. Well, it looks like they did, and many North Texas fans have made their presence known.
Now the real mystery is how Sheridan is going to kill off John Dutton (Costner).
The second half of “Yellowstone” season 5 is set to stream on Paramount + on November 10.
