Collected Comics and Games
Typically celebrated on the first Saturday of May — but this year taking place this coming Saturday — Free Comic Book Day is an event in which more than 2,000 participating shops across the country do exactly as the name implies: give away comic books for free.
If you're up for getting your get your geek on this weekend, here are a few places to visit.
Y2Komics
As the oldest comic bookstore in Fort Worth, Y2Komics has been a longtime stop for graphic novels, board games, and miniatures. If you’re looking to host a game, tournament, demo, or anything else, don’t forget to check out its massive game room.
On Saturday, Y2Komics will have a selection of comics from which customers can pick two for free. Those who come in costume can pick a third, and those who mention the Facebook event posting can get a fourth.

Wild West Comics and Games
Open seven days a week, Wild West Comics and Games boasts the longest comic book wall in town. Its shelves are stocked with an array of graphic novels, hundreds of board games, role playing games, and more.
Wild West is letting customers take home up to three comic books for Free Comic Book Day and a fourth if they donate a canned good for those in need.

Collected Comics and Games
Collected Comics and Games specializes in new comics as well as an ever-growing selection of back issues, casual board games, role playing games, miniatures, Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Card Fight Vanguard, Funko POP!, Gundam models, and more.
Those who visit Collected on Saturday can choose up to three comics, a fourth if you come in costume, and two more if you purchase at least $25.

Sci-Fi Factory Collectibles
As the name may suggest, Sci-Fi Factory provides all of the comic, gaming, and hobby supplies from the industry’s top manufacturers in addition to carrying a complete line of collectible card games, miniatures, board games, role playing games, and dice. What makes Sci-Fi Factory particularly unique is that it will buy, sell, and trade everything in the store.
Sci-Fi factory, too, will offer a selection of comics for free on Saturday.

Fanboys Marketplace
At over 38,000 square feet, Fanboys Marketplace is the largest pop culture artisan marketplace across the state where customers can choose from an assortment of collectibles, comic books, board games, and costumes.
On Saturday, Fanboys is giving up to three free comics for anyone who shows up. Wear a costume to get another, bring a canned food item for another, and make a donation to either the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund or Tarrant Area Food Bank on-site for — well, as Thor says, "Another!"
