7. A New Musical Era Begins: Brahms, Beethoven, and Schubert
Two musicians are making their debuts with the Fort Worth Symphony this weekend. Let’s start with magnificus Jorge Federico Osorio, a masterful pianist, who helps kick off new director Robert Spano’s highly anticipated tenure with the symphony. It all starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Bass Hall. Together, Osorio and the orchestra will bring to life the grandeur of Beethoven's "Emperor" piano concerto, the mystery of Schubert's "Unfinished" symphony, and the charm of Brahms' Variations on a Theme by Haydn for a quintessentially classic evening. Bass Hall describes this as a work of surging euphoria and unrivaled majesty. Bravo.
