July is a month best known for bringing out the patriot in all of us North Texans. In fact, if there was ever a month on the calendar we plan to go big celebration-wise it’s this one. How can we not when there are fireworks stands on every other small town street corner acting as reminders of our freedom, our sacrifice, and our penchant for a good time.
What makes this July a bit more exciting are the events outside of our nation’s birthday taking place around town. For instance, Pop legend Janet Jackson might not have a new album out this year, but she's got enough hits to fill an arena pretty much any time she wants. Also on our list is a performance by local music group The Polyphonic Spree. This choral band was formed out of the ashes of Tripping Daisy, one of North Texas’ best known 90s rock bands; remember “I Got a Girl”? Besides reminiscing about old music, checkout something new like a play titled "The Handless King" at the Amphibian Stage. Whatever your July ritual, add to it by selecting one of the events on our calendar, thus sparking a new one to continue next July.
