Turning twice the legal age to drink, this Saturday will mark the 42nd year the Fort Worth Art Dealers Association (FWADA) will hold its annual Fall Gallery Night, which will feature over 60 artists in almost 40 participating galleries, museums, retail businesses, and restaurants.
Must-see exhibits include "Blinders," the first solo exhibition from Jacob Lovett, which will be on display at Love Texas Art on Houston Street. The 20-painting series showcases Lovett’s use of oil paint to narrate Western and Modern themes, which explore the concept of truth and individual journeys by using bronc and bull riding as a metaphor for independent struggles.
Artspace 111will present "Paradigm Shift" from Texan-Venezuelan artist Ender Martos, who uses monofilament, colored acrylic mirrors, and other mixed media to showcase dynamic three-dimensional wall sculptures.
Since July 9, Crystal Wagner’s “Sublime,” an immersive installation of colorful, shapeless mixed media sculptures, has encircled Fort Works Art. The gallery will continue to showcase the immersive experience through Saturday, when Fort Works Art will also treat gallery goers to an exhibit from realist painter Rachel English.
These examples represent a mere sneak peek into what attendees will find this weekend, when galleries will showcase sculptures, pottery, paintings, jewelry, and more.
You can see the full list of participating galleries and artists at the official Fall Gallery Night website.
