Every corner of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden seems to whisper a story, a memory, a spark of something greater. It’s a place where time slows, colors bloom brighter, and connections — between people, nature, and history — flourish.
As the calendar flips to 2025, the Garden promises another year of awe-inspiring moments, each exhibit and event a carefully curated chapter in a never-ending love letter to the natural world. Let’s step inside and explore what’s on the horizon for this beloved treasure of North Texas.
Butterflies in the Garden: A Kaleidoscope of Wonder
March 1 – April 30, 2025
FWBG
Close your eyes and imagine a tropical paradise teeming with vibrant colors and delicate wings. Now, open them — you’re in the Rainforest Conservatory, surrounded by thousands of exotic and native butterflies from around the globe. "Butterflies in the Garden" invites visitors to step into a living fairytale.
It’s not just a feast for the eyes; it’s a gentle reminder of the intricate beauty and fragility of our ecosystem. With every flutter, these pollinators tell a story of connection and purpose.
Cracking Art: A Modern Menagerie
April 1 – September 30, 2025
FWBG
This spring, art and nature collide in the most unexpected way. Enter "Cracking Art," an outdoor exhibit featuring larger-than-life animals crafted from recycled plastic. Imagine a fluorescent rabbit peeking from behind a rosebush or a technicolor snail basking in the sun.
But these aren’t just playful sculptures — they’re conversation starters. The Italian collective behind the exhibit uses these whimsical pieces to spark dialogue about sustainability and conservation. It’s art with a message, inviting us to rethink our relationship with the environment while having a little fun along the way.
Musical Swings: Play Your Part
September 18 – December 7, 2025

Picture this: a row of swings in the autumn air, each one creating a musical note as it moves. Now imagine the magic as strangers join in, synchronizing their rhythms to compose a spontaneous symphony.
The "Musical Swings" exhibit transforms a simple playground activity into an interactive musical masterpiece. Whether you’re eight or eighty, it’s impossible not to smile as you become part of a living, breathing orchestra.
Lightscape: A Holiday Tradition Illuminated
November 21, 2025 – January 2026
Lightscape
As the year winds down, the Garden lights up. "Lightscape," Fort Worth’s favorite holiday tradition, returns with brand-new displays, music, and experiences that will transport you to a world of wonder. Twinkling pathways, glowing trees, and mesmerizing installations make this an unforgettable way to end the year.
The beauty of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden isn’t confined to these marquee events. Year-round, visitors can stroll through tulip-lined pathways in spring, browse the Garden’s renowned plant sales in April and October, or find peace during the Japanese Festivals.
Don’t miss ¡Celebramos!, a celebration of Latin heritage in September, or the heartfelt Día de los Muertos event in October. And for dog lovers, the Garden’s "Dog Days" events ensure your furry friends can join the fun, too.
For 90 years, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden has been more than a collection of flowers and plants. It’s a living, breathing testament to the bonds between people and nature. It’s a place where first dates turn into wedding days, where toddlers discover the joy of chasing butterflies, and where families build traditions that span generations.
Patrick Newman, the Garden’s president and CEO, reflects: “Every path, every bloom, every moment here tells a story. As we look to the future, we remain rooted in our commitment to education, conservation, and the simple joy of connecting with nature.”
So, mark your calendars, grab your loved ones, and let the FWBG be the backdrop for your 2025 adventures. After all, this isn’t just a garden — it’s a world waiting to be discovered.
