Howdy, folks. If you think you noticed something different about Big Tex this year at the State Fair, you did.
He has changed clothes, thanks to Dickies.
The larger-than-life cowboy got a new outfit this year, but he’s still styling the Fort Worth-based clothing brand. Big Tex, a Western wear-type guy, gets a makeover every few years.
Dickies has been Big Tex’s brand of choice for a generation, outfitting Texas’ hardest-working cowboy for the past 20 years. Big Tex’s denim is modeled after Dickies’ X-Series line of jeans.

The new design features a blue fabric design with a red point collar, with the word “Dickies” embroidered on both sides and fringe swaying on the bottom of the sleeves. Stars align in this unique design as they fall down the front of the shirt.
No word on if Big Tex’s clothing is flame retardant. You might recall that issue came up about 10 years ago.
Dickies celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, and Big Tex turns 70 on Oct. 4.
The State Fair runs Sept. 30–Oct. 3.
