Fort Worth sees its first fall fashion week thanks to mastermind Philip Maximillian, running through Sunday.
Returning after its successful debut this spring, Maximilian is at the helm once more. FWFW has a plethora of events showcasing fall trends with more styles, shows, and businesses and brands this year. Menswear, athletic leisure, and more Western styles are only just some examples of more fashion forward styles we’ll be seeing.
Maximillian will debut his first spring and summer couture collection for 2023, aptly naming it, The Debut. Fort Worth’s unique Western culture was the inspiration behind the collection, which required over 40 hours of hand sewing. Spectators can expect fringe and flowy chiffon fabrics featured in the show.
“We illustrated in spring the introduction of saying we’re here, and come and see what we’re about,” Maximillian says. “Now, it’s bringing them all together, everyone in the Fort Worth fashion community and creating this big event for the week.”
This year's event showcases fashion shows from Studio 74 Vintage, City Boots, LAUDE the Label, and more than 30 other local businesses and brands. Returning events from earlier this year include a fashion reception at Neiman Marcus and Camp Bowie's Fashion Row. FWFW kicks off with City Boot’s “The Big Bend” runway show tonight.
“It’s the place that rejuvenates your soul. In designing the Big Bend Collection, it was important to me to represent the natural colors and allure of the region,” City Boots founder, Lizzy Bentley, says. “The stitch pattern winds and flows, just like the roads and Rio Grande River that carve across the landscape. The midnight navy exemplifies the dark night skies I encountered driving along the Presidio Highway, illuminated only by stars.”
