South by Southwest will soon be getting a big taste of what's happening in Fort Worth — and we're not just talking about local artists taking the stage.
Fort Worth will host a two-day series of events at Fair Market in Austin on March 13-14, dubbed "Fort Worth Now," which will highlight the city's innovations in technology, business, art, music and film. The event will feature panels with business leaders, interactive art from Fort Worth photographer Rambo, a Fort Worth makers market and exhibits from Lockheed Martin and Bell Helicopter. Local musicians are also in line to perform, including Abraham Alexander, Quaker City Night Hawks, and Grady Spencer and the Work.
The event will kick off with Mayor Betsy Price leading a 15K bike ride from Mellow Johnny's Austin to Fair Market. Other local leaders like Red Productions president Red Sanders, Bell Helicopter executive vice president Michael Thacker and TX Whiskey creators Leonard Firestone and Troy Robertson are expected to host events or serve as panelists.
Fort Worth Now is a collaboration among the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau (FWCVB), Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, the City of Fort Worth, Bell Helicopter, Lockheed Martin, Hillwood Properties, Niles City Sound, Firestone & Robertson Whiskey, Hear Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Film Commission. High Beam Productions is producing the event.
