The excitement was addictive Saturday evening as the Horned Frogs met the Long Island University Sharks for the first time at Amon G. Carter Stadium. The game was TCU's 2024 home opener, a 45-0 victory. Quarterback Josh Hoover threw for a net of 267 yards, including an 18-yard pass to tight end Chase Curtis in the fourth quarter, marking Hoover’s second touchdown of the game.
The win was the Horned Frogs' 21st in their past 23 home openers. Also, 6,153 students were in attendance, which was the fourth-largest attended game in TCU’s history. The number makes up almost 50% of the school’s total enrollment.
Talk about team spirit.
TCU scored on six of its seven possessions right out of the gate, with Hoover hitting 20-of-25 pass attempts. Running back Cam Cook racked up 60 yards and made contact with the end zone three times. And Namdi Obiazor picked up his first career interception in the third quarter.
All in all, it was a great night to be a TCU football fan.
