Hotel Drover
A hotel that embodies the spirit and core values of the old-time drovers, cattlemen, and women of their time, with a bit of luxury to boot, is riding high for a second year. The Hotel Drover, an Autograph Collection hotel located at 200 Mule Alley in the Fort Worth Stockyards was just named "No. 1 Best Hotel in Dallas-Fort Worth" by Travel + Leisure's 2024 World's Best Awards.
This isn’t too shabby considering Travel + Leisure roves the globe looking for the top hotels, islands, cities, cruise lines, airlines, spas, and so much more. The fact that Hotel Drover made this list for a second year, just goes to show that it keeps upping the ante on its hospitality game. But this publication isn’t the gatekeeper for this award. Instead, this honor is being bestowed on the Hotel Drover as a result of the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2024 readers’ survey. According to a release, readers rated hotels on the following characteristics: rooms and facilities, location, service, food, and value.
Opened in March of 2021, Hotel Drover resides in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District at the very end of Mule Alley, alongside Marine Creek. Currently, the hotel has 200 luxurious guest rooms, along with several Texas-style spa suites. Guests can also enjoy 40,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including The Barn with 30’ vaulted ceilings, custom Italian crystal chandeliers, and exposed 150-year-old reclaimed timber. This hotel also has an event space and its signature restaurant 97 West Kitchen & Bar at Fort Worth Stockyards, a must for any date night in Cowtown.
Plus, let’s be honest, it’s close to everything the Stockyards has to offer. Whether you want to check out the twice-a-day cattle drive, visit the Duke at the John Wayne Museum, catch a good ol’ fashioned rodeo, or some live music, Hotel Drover is the spot to be.
“We are honored to be recognized as the best hotel in Dallas-Fort Worth for the second time by the discerning readers of Travel + Leisure,” says Craig Cavileer, managing partner of Stockyards Heritage Development Co. “Hotel Drover's arrival in the Fort Worth Stockyards marked a pivotal moment, acting as a catalyst for the positive transformation this historic district has experienced. We're proud to have played a role in revitalizing this iconic destination, and this award simply fuels our enthusiasm for the upcoming second phase of development.”
