Kimbell Art Museum
The Kimbell Art Museum has released its exhibition schedule through 2022, but that's not the only excitement the Fort Worth institution has in store next year.
Next year marks the Kimbell's 50th anniversary. While specific anniversary plans have not yet been released, the Kimbell has marked Oct. 4, 2022, as a significant date to keep in mind (that's the exact day the museum opened in 1972).
Here's what's on the calendar:
- "Turner’s Modern World," Oct. 17 – Feb. 6, 2022. A showcase of landscape paintings by British artist J.M.W. Turner (1775–1851).
- "The Language of Beauty in African Art," March 27, 2022 – July 31, 2022. Nearly 250 African works including sculptures, ceremonial costumes, and masks.
- "Murillo: From Heaven to Earth," Sept. 18, 2022 – Jan. 29, 2023. Works by Spanish Golden age painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617–1682).
- Kimbell Art Museum’s 50th Anniversary, Oct. 4, 2022. Free admission on selected days to "Murillo: From Heaven to Earth." The Kimbell plans to announce additional anniversary-related programming at a later date.
