Kenny Uptain and Kelly Test have been kicked out of bands, had members quit and, in the end, found that in forming Foxtrot Uniform, they have had success with their album Huj! Huj! Hajrah! because of the positive reception it has received.
With a passion to perform, the duo played close to 200 shows in their first year together. Their intense desire to perform as much as possible demonstrates that these artists have found their career and want to pursue it to its fullest potential. Uptain, 27, lives in Fort Worth, and Test lives in East Dallas, making this pair accessible, since they perform at many local venues such as Woodshed Smokehouse.
Along with being a member of Foxtrot Uniform, Test is also a member of Dallas" Polyphonic Spree. Both have played in many country bands throughout their careers and some rock bands as well.
While the two-piece rock and roll band has made great strides with the most recent album, Uptain and Test also seek to expand their sound and evolve as they continue to grow as artists. In doing so, the pair wants to add more instrumentalists to enrich their sound. Part of this progression meant bringing in Robbie Saunders, who is from Dallas" Tweed EQ, as the band's third member in September 2012. Although he is not on the band's current album, Huj! Huj! Hajrah!, Saunders will perform live shows with Foxtrot Uniform and participate in future recordings. Ultimately, Uptain and Test hope to become a five-piece band, in order to reach the quality and fullness of sound they envision.
Foxtrot Uniform is working on the next album, which will be released fall of 2013. Fans can look forward to not only seeing Foxtrot Uniform's growth in the number of band members, but also in the development of its holistic sound and the lyrics that complement it.
