Lone Star Film Festival
Lone Star Film Festival
No packed theaters for this year's iteration of the Lone Star Film Festival, which will go virtual in light of COVID-19.
The show will go on this year for the Lone Star Film Festival (LSFF) despite the current circumstances.
LSFF will be back for its 14th annual event, taking place online from Nov. 4 – 8 in light of COVID-19.
The five-day festival celebrates the art of independent film and the creatives behind the content. LSFF also showcases Fort Worth as a production location while encouraging filmmakers to create and inspire within the city.
“Great film cities need great film festivals,” Jessica Christopherson, assistant vice president of marketing and film commissioner for Fort Worth Film Commission (FWFC) and Visit Fort Worth, said in a statement. “LSFF is an important part of our city’s creative fabric, and we are looking forward to making this year’s version of the festival a success.”
This year, the LSFF and FWFC announced a joint partnership to co-produce the annual festival. Visit Fort Worth and the FWFC will take on a larger role by supporting this festival through advertising, marketing, design, and public relations efforts. The FWFC will also offer support in securing panel content and work closely with Hear Fort Worth to add local music to the festival.
“We are excited to have the support of the Fort Worth Film Commission and Visit Fort Worth for the 2020 festival,” Chad Mathews, director of LSFF, said in a statement. “We have an opportunity to reach new viewers from around the world and showcase our city through great content in an online platform.”
Ticket details and the official LSFF lineup will be announced in early October. For more information, visit lonestarfilmfestival.com.
