Joe Exotic
A local hairdresser has started a GoFundMe page titled Bucks for Buttcut that promises to be as entertaining as Joe Exotic.
Shampoo Salon hairdresser Jill Cespedes started the page to raise money for herself and her family during the public health crisis. Following social distancing restrictions, Cespedes’ place of work has had to shut down.
Cespedes has promised to cut her hair in a variety of styles depending on the amount of money that is raised. For $100, she’ll get a butt cut; for $500, a Rachel cut from the hit TV show “Friends”; for $1,000, she’ll get an Ozzy cut from the rocker’s Black Sabbath days; and for $6,000, she’ll get the mother of all haircuts — the Joe Exotic, inspired by the subject of Netflix’s hit documentary series, “Tiger King.”
Cespedes says she was a little nervous about the “Tiger King” option, but she’s ready to do whatever it takes to help her and her family through financially difficult times.
“I’m ready to go all the way; but dude, if I’m going to look like Joe Exotic, it has to be worth it,” says Cespedes. “I’m going to need $6,000 to get over the embarrassment.”
Shampoo Salon is a family owned and operated business that has been a part of the Fort Worth community for 20 years. Cespedes, along with her sister-in-law and brother, Josh Kenney and Kari Kenney, started the business in 2000, and it has only grown since.
Cespedes hopes the business will continue to thrive in the community once COVID-19 has been contained. So far, Cespedes has raised $150.
Joe Exotic himself — Joe Maldonado-Passage — is currently serving a prison sentence at the Fort Worth Federal Medical Center.
