Fort Worth Stockyards
The chuckwagons are rolling into the Fort Worth Stockyards once again for the historic district's annual celebration of Western swing music and culture.
And it's an anniversary year, too.
The Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering and Western Swing Festival will celebrate 30 years this weekend at the Stockyards. Set to take place Friday through Sunday, the festival will feature an authentic chuckwagon parade and camp, chuckwagon cook-offs, ranch rodeos, a trade show, and more activities — along with Western swing music, dancing, and poetry. Steagall himself will be performing daily, with other artists like Jake Hooker, R. W. Hampton, and Jean Prescott also expected to appear. Most events will take place between Stockyards Station and Cowtown Coliseum.
The event is one of the largest cowboy gatherings in the U.S., attracting between 25,000 to 35,000 attendees annually over the course of three days.
A detailed schedule of events is available here, and tickets can be purchased here.
