Well hey guys! It’s been awhile since we have done a #fridayintroduction & we have lots of new faces around here! Welcome to all of our new friends & for those who have been with us since the beginning, thanks for sticking around! It’s been a crazy six months since we started & we are happy to say we are still loving this whole blogging thing! . We are Sarah & Ashley, sister-in-laws & best friends who started Simply Sisters Co out of a desire to share what’s going on, what we’re learning, & what we’re loving! . Here are a few random facts about us: We were friends FIRST before Sarah married Ashley’s brother! Our houses are built on back-to-back lots & we have a gate between connecting our backyards. And no, we don’t get tired of each other & yes, everybody was on board with that decision! We are counting down the days until the @nordstrom Anniversary Sale! IT. IS. THE. BEST. SALE. EVER. Our dogs Gus & Remy have a love-hate cousin relationship with each other. Gus loves Remy. Remy hates Gus. Ashley Watten and Sarah LeafGren may not actually be sisters, but they are close to it. These two besties met while working at Pine Cove Christian Camps and have been inseparable ever since. They even bought houses right next door from each other. Ashley and Sarah started Simply Sisters out of a “desire to share what’s going on” in their lives and to share what they are loving, in a way that encourages “other women to live well in all areas of their lives.” They blog about faith, wellness, home, beauty and style.

For Fort Worth native Jennifer Gilmore, her blog began 12 years ago as her inspiration to dress for her new job as an elementary school teacher. First time wearing my @dwellandslumber outside of the house. I had youth leader training all day today starting this morning at 9am and I needed to both look good and be comfortable. (Shocker, those two don’t always go together.) Gotta admit, I wondered if the moment I walked in, someone would ask if I was wearing my pajamas because that’s all I’ve ever worn them as (and yeah, it was what I wore to bed last night). Anyway, I knotted my new Blush cocoon, threw it together with leggings and my favorite leopard moccasins and killed it. So watch out world, now that I’m confident enough wearing my dresses as tunics, my fall/winter wardrobe has a whole new vibe!

“Vulnerability” Vulnerability is only true vulnerability when you put it all out there; not just the parts that look good. { even the things you are too embarrassed/ashamed to admit you struggle with} I’m not saying that you have to be vulnerable with the world like I am (I’m called to do this). But just because you don’t tell anyone about what you hide behind closed doors, tears that you wipe away before anyone can see - doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist, it only means you don’t deal with it ( you push it down). We aren’t mean’t to this life alone - God is with us and has placed people in your life to come along side and help you. •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• It’s uncomfortable (at first). It’s Humbling. It’s Brave. It’s FREEDOM -> from the things that hold us in captivity (telling us to hide our weakness). Vulnerability is STRENGTHS finest hour ( it’s not weakness but strength to be vulnerable). •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• The more I trust God and those He placed in my life to help me; the more FREE I get from fear, shame, anger, hurt, and so many more things that I’ve held in for way too long! I was so wrong when I believed that I would be weak to need help. I have never felt more strong , then when I admit that I’m struggling with something or that a situation is difficult for me. •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• Fear of telling people you are struggling/ asking for help is the first step and action to getting freedom in that area. The moment I reached out for help was the moment I believed I would come out a conqueror. •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• The word of God is to encourage you and strengthen you, but if you continue to go it alone you will continue to stay the same.
